Star Wars: Skeleton Crew is the latest edition in the Star Wars franchise. The series is about four kids who find themselves on a galactic adventure in the dangerous parts of the galaxy. The series premieres with the first 2 episodes, which give us insight into what the series is going to be about.

Spoiler Warning: This article contains a detailed overview of the first two episodes of the series.  

Episode 1: “This Could Be a Real Adventure”

In the cold opening scene of the series, we see the harsh realities of the pirate life. The scene starts with Captain Silvo and his pirate crew attacking a bulk freighter thinking the ship’s vault contains credits (Star Wars currency). But after taking possession of the ship and opening its vault, the pirates quickly realized that there were no credits on the ship. After this realization, the crew turns on their Captain and he tries to escape.

After this, the scene cuts to Wim (Ravi Cabot-Conyers) and Neel (Robert Timothy Smith) who are best friends and live on the futuristic planet of At Attin. Both boys have a healthy imagination and like to play with action figures and pretend lightsabers. Wim is the kind of boy who likes adventure and Neel, on the other hand, is the kind of boy who is just happy to tag along with his friend during these adventures. 

On the flip side, we have Fern (Ryan Kiera Armstrong) and KB (Kyriana Kratter) best friends who love to race hoverbikes. Fern is a rebellious girl while KB, on the other hand, is really into technical stuff. After calling “claimsies” on a mysterious metallic door which was discovered by Wim - believing it to be an old Jedi Temple, only to later learn that it belongs to a ship known as the Onyx Cinder. 

After waking the ship up from hibernation, Wim touches a button that sends them speeding towards the sky even after being warned by Fern not to touch anything. This was just the beginning of the adventure.

Episode 2: “Way, Way Out Past the Barrier”

The second episode begins with Fern, Wim, Neel and KB scared and stuck in the ship that is hovering towards the sky. Just then the ship’s droid SM-33 (Nick Frost) appears who is loyal to the ship’s captain. Fern manages to make him believe she is the new captain of the ship and asks him to fly the ship back to their homeworld. Unable to recall their way back home, the kids are suggested by SM-33 to go to Port Borgo as they will be able to find what they are looking for from there. Not knowing the dangers that lay ahead in Borgo, they all agree and the droid flies the ship to the Starport.

On Borgo, the kids were quickly highlighted as they possess Old Republic Credits and claimed to be from At Attin-the lost world of eternal treasure. The kid tries to run back to their ship as everyone chases after them as everyone wants the Credits. Just then pirate Captain Brutus (Fred Tatasciore) appears and orders his men to put the kids into the brig.

Scared and thinking of ways to get out of the brig so they can find their way back home the kids are startled by a voice coming from the shadows. Just then the mysterious Jod (Jude Law) steps out of the shadows, dressed like a pauper and covered in rags. Somehow he makes the key that unlocks the door of the brig to levitate, which will make their escape possible. The episode ends with Jod asking can you keep a secret.
