You Have a Lot to Learn About Pirates

After such a suspenseful ending in episode 4, the latest episode of Skeleton Crew delivers yet another thrilling adventure. It begins with a tense moment on At Attin, where Wendle secretly tries to bypass security to get the access code which he can use to send the kids a message. While doing so he is caught by a security droid, who takes him to the supervisor. This leads to a surprising revelation: the supervisor the droid takes him to is none other than Fara, Fern's mother. Fara very cleverly helps Wendle cover his tracks and further assists him, realising that the leadership at At Attin has no intention of helping their children.

Meanwhile, the kids and Jod are aboard their ship with an unconscious SM-33. KB turns the droid on, who wakes up and reveals his past. 33 tells everyone that his old captain was Tak Rennod, a notorious pirate captain, and the ship they are on is the Onyx Cinder, which was Rennod's legendary vessel. While revealing all this information, he admits he does not know the location of the coordinates for At Attin but knows that his old captain has hidden the coordinates in his secret lair, which is located in Skull Ridge Mountain. Fern orders the droid to take them there which the droid obliges.

As the pirate captain has been away from his lair for quite some time now, The mountain has been turned into a luxurious spa. The transformation adds humour and challenges as the crew navigates through unsuspecting visitors to locate the lair's entrance. During this, Jod runs into an old acquaintance who calls him Dash Zentin. As she still holds a grudge against Jod and wants to take her revenge, she calls Brutus to Skull Ridge so she can collect the bounty placed on Jod’s head.

The kid, Jod and SM-33 find the door to the lair and enter it. Inside the lair, Jod tells everyone to spread out and find the data log. Neel is able to find it, and Jod asks SM-33 to access it. The droid not only finds the coordinates for At Attin in the data log but discovers far more than that. Jod, after discovering the truth about At Attin and its treasure, which is the Old Republic mint, shows his true colours. He challenges Fern to a fight, knowing full well that she will not be able to fight, which will ultimately make him the new captain: this is an old pirate tradition. Fern unwillingly yields, making Jod the new captain. After becoming captain, Jod orders SM-33 to take the kids as prisoners, but before that happens, the kids are to escape from the lair.
