We're Gonna Be In So Much Trouble

Episode six of Skeleton Crew left us on the edge of our seats with so many twists and turns. This made the wait for the new episode all the more difficult. But after seeing the new episode, I realised it was worth the wait.

We're Gonna Be In So Much Trouble

This new episode of Skeleton Crew starts with the kids parent’s in the forest of At Attin trying to make a makeshift transmitter to send a message to the kids. They are caught by the Security Droids and are stunned one by one, but still, Fara, Fern’s mother, is able to successfully send the transmitter.

Abroad the Onyx Cinder, the kids are all happy as they are on their way home. Wim, on the other hand, is frustrated that they have to go home and his life will get boring again. Fern, Neel and KB, however, appreciate the journey they have had as it has helped them grow.

Their thoughts are interrupted when a pirate frigate emerges from hyperspace near At Attin. Captain Brutus stares at the swirling Barrier with scepticism. Jod and SM-33 insist it’s not a mirage, explaining the Barrier’s deadly defences. To test it, Brutus sends out a fighter, which is instantly destroyed. Frustrated, Brutus throws Jod into the airlock, demanding answers.

Trying to save himself, Jod points out that Captain Rennod has once entered At Attin, so there must be a way. Just as Jod says this, the Cinder appears nearing At Attin.

Understanding its importance, Jod asks Brutus to capture the ship using tractor beams.

Cinder lands on the pirate frigate

As the Cinder lands on the pirate frigate, all hell breaks loose. Using the mechanical crane, the KB, with the help of her cybernetics, traps Brutus. Jod, using the situation to his advantage and to scare the kids, kills Brutus. Seeing this, the pirates shift their allegiance, and Jod orders them to capture the kids who are hidden inside the Cinder.

When Jod, the kids and other pirates are inside the Captain’s quarters, the message from the kids' parents appears. Seeing the message, Fern gets motivated to come up with a plan to take back control of their ship. But before she comes up with a plan, Wim impulsively attacks the pirate, which leads to the kid’s capture again.

Wim’s outburst triggers a technical argument over pirate law as to who will become the new Captain of the ship, with SM-33 declaring the ship "kid-owned." This justifies SM-33 to incapacitate Jod, eject the pirates, and pilot the ship through the Barrier. The storm destroys the pursuing pirate fighters, but the Onyx Cinder, built on At Attin, safely makes it through the Barrier.

ship crosses the Barrier

When the ship crosses the Barrier, it goes into autopilot mode; suddenly, Jod appears and cuts 33’s head off with a lightsaber he found in Captain Rennod’s lair. He threatens the children, calling them weak and unworthy and orders them to remain silent as they approach the planet’s surface.

Back on At Attin, the parents are detained by the Security Droids while explaining their actions. The Supervisor’s voice interrupts the conversation, announcing the arrival of an Emissary ship. KB’s parents confirm the kids are aboard that ship. The Cinder is brought underground, and the Barrier blocks Jod’s attempts to contact the pirate frigate.

In the vault beneath At Attin, Jod discovers unimaginable wealth—endless stacks of Old Republic credits. The droids inform him there are over a thousand vaults just like it. Jod revels in his victory.

Jod

Outside the vault, the children are reunited with their parents in an emotional embrace. But their joy is short-lived as Jod emerges, igniting his lightsaber. Just then, the scene cuts to the credits.

This is it for now from our side, we will be back with the eighth and final episode of Skeleton Crew very soon. Till then, may the Force be with you.
